W. Mackey Watkins, MD, CEO
W. Mackey Watkins, MD accepted the position as the Chief Executive Officer for the Texoma Medical Center in August 2002 after serving as interim CEO since May 2002.
Dr. Watkins has maintained a successful Nephrology practice in Denison and Sherman since 1979. He has been active on the TMC Board of Directors since February 1985, serving as Secretary and Vice Chairman. He served as Chairman of the Board from November 2001 to August 2002, being the first physician to hold that position.
Dr. Watkins attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he did both his internship and residency. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine (Nephrology). He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Healthcare Executives, Renal Physicians Associations, Alpha Omega Alpha, Mu Delta, Texas Medical Association, and the Grayson County Medical Society.
Dr. Watkins continues to see a limited number of patients while handling his day-to-day duties of CEO.
