TMC announces Eighth floor expansion

Texoma Medical Center is pleased to announce that construction on its eighth floor has begun. Due to open in Spring 2015, the 38-bed floor is the final area of shelled space in the hospital's main bed tower to be completed. The hospital opened with six patient floors in 2009 and finalized construction on the seventh floor, opening to patient care, in December of 2013. The eighth floor will be the new home for the hospital's oncology services as well as palliative care.

As the health needs in Texoma grow, you can count on TMC to continue to shape the future of healthcare in our region," said Ron Seal, Chief Executive Officer at Texoma Medical Center. With the completion of the eighth floor, Texoma Medical Center expects to increase its workforce by an additional 100 jobs.
TMC Breast Care Center Designated as a breast imaging center of Excellence

The TMC Breast Care Center (BCC) has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). By awarding faclities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditiation in all of the College's voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program. The TMC Breast Care Center is the only center in the region to have earned this prestigious designation.
The breast imaging services at the TMC Breast Care Center are fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that the BCC has acheived high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
According to Alicia Starr, MD, a fellowship-trained breast imaging specialist at the TMC Breast Care Center, "This recognition as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence reflects our committment to providing quality, comprehensive breast health services. We are proud that women choose us to meet their needs and we are dediciated to providing them with accurate results while pampering them in our beautiful spa-like setting."
Texoma Medical Center Receives UHS Quality Award for Second Consecutive Year

For the second year in a row, Texoma Medical Center has been awarded the Overall Quality Award by Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. This award recognizes TMC as the top performer from among 25 acute care hospitals operated by a subsidiary of UHS in aligning its practices with national initiatives established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The Overall Quality Award was announced at the UHS Hospital Management Conference in March in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It will be formally presented to Texoma Medical Center by UHS Regional Vice President Frank Lopez during a presentation slated for Monday, May 5 in the TMC lobby. A reception will follow.
