The Behavioral Health Center at Texoma Medical Center offers comprehensive adult psychiatric services. Our 60-bed facility has served the region's mental health needs for more than two decades.

TMC Behavioral Health Center is accredited by The Joint Commission, a national organization monitoring healthcare quality. The TMC Behavioral Health Center was named a "Best Practice Site" by The Joint Commission in 2003.

TMC Behavioral Health Center provides inpatient stabilization, partial hospitalization programs, ElderCare services including a geriatric psychiatric care unit dedicated to the care of older adults. We also provide individualized continuing care services.

We accept referrals 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All patients receive an initial evaluation by our licensed mental health professionals. A TMC physician in consultation with a psychiatrist will perform a more in-depth assessment for medical necessity.

Center Services

Adult Inpatient Stabilization: This program is designed to provide services to those suffering from a major mental health crisis. Services are provided in a safe and secure environment. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach with psychiatrists, clinical social workers, occupational and recreational therapists, professional counselors, nurses and chaplains guiding a patient's care.

Adult Inpatient Progressive Care: This program provides similar services as inpatient stabilization but in a less restrictive environment that is segregated from those suffering from more severe symptoms.

Adult Inpatient Geriatric Care: Older adults have unique mental, physical and emotional needs. Underlying physical and medical conditions can intensify their mental or emotional problems. Recognizing this, services are provided in a separate treatment program for geriatric patients.

Dual Psychiatric/Chemical Dependency Care: We provide inpatient services to patients with major affective or thinking disorders who are chemically dependent. Services include detoxification and a concurrent psychiatric service program.

Partial Hospitalization Program: Not all patients need 24-hour supervision and care. The Partial Hospitalization Program allows patients to receive treatment similar to that of inpatient programs with the advantage of returning to their homes and families at night.
