Radiology

Radiology is the area of medicine that uses X-rays, radioactive tracers, magnetic waves and ultrasonic waves to obtain detailed images of the inside of the body. Doctors can then use those images to detect and diagnose illnesses and injuries, as well as to help develop treatment plans. To complement our imaging capabilites, our outpatient location, TMC Advanced Medical Imaging, provides high-quality and technologically advanced medical imaging to residents of Sherman and Denison and is recognized as one of the premier imaging centers in the area. Texoma Medical Center and TMC Advanced Medical Imaging offer the following radiology services:

American College of Radiology (ACR) Accredited

Breast Imaging COERadiology at Texoma Medical Center is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the largest organization of radiologists in the nation. The TMC Breast Care Center is the only facility in the region to be designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology for achieving high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation. TMC received the BICOE designation, by being fully accredited by the ACR in:

  • Mammography
  • Stereotactic breast biopsy
  • Breast ultrasound, including the Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy module

Peer-review evaluations by board-certified physicians and medical physicists have determined that TMC has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
