Specialty Services for Women
Specialists in women's health provide a range of services for women of all ages. From routine gynecological exams to minimally invasive robotic procedures, the team as Texoma Medical Center (TMC) provides the options and treatments women need for a variety of conditions including cancer, uterine fibroids (non-cancerous tumors), endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain and abnormal vaginal bleeding.
As women age from childbearing to the senior years, their bodies change and they have special needs. The women's health professionals at TMC can support women as they go through menopause and also provide advanced medical imaging and diagnostic tests, such as digital mammograms and bone density screenings, to help keep women well.
The TMC Breast Care Center offers 3D tomosynthesis (tomo), digital mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound services for the detection of breast cancer in its earliest stages. If breast cancer is found, a nurse navigator helps guide patients through each stage of care, answers questions and offers support and assistance. The center also offers bone density testing for osteoporosis (disease of aging that causes bone loss). 3D digital mammography is also available at the Outpatient Imaging Center at ER at Anna.
Robotic Surgery for Gynecologic Conditions
For some women, robotic gynecologic surgery may be a good alternative to open surgery or standard laparoscopic procedures. Surgeons at TMC use the da Vinci® Xi® Surgical System to perform robotic hysterectomy (to remove the uterus), myomectomy (to remove uterine fibroids) and sacrocolpopexy (to treat pelvic prolapse).
The Texoma Heart Institute at TMC is one of the premier cardiovascular programs in Texas.
